I get to know a little about one stranger each week for all of 2024
This is Denise.
Denise spent a lot of her career in Alaska and now spends her summers in Vermont and travels south to explore warmer areas in the winter. She lives in her travel trailer with her two dogs and one cat. I met Denise in the campground dog park, where she was laughing as she watched her dogs frolic. She said that she loves traveling with her animals, and the cat rules the roost over the dogs.
Denise is a solo traveler and wanted to know more about how her travel trailer works so that she could fix it herself when something went wrong. So she took a few classes to become an RV technician.
Now she can repair her own RV and has started her own RV tech business. She says she’s starting it slow and will build it up over time. I know she’s going to do well, because it’s hard to find people to work on RVs — it’s a valuable skill to have.
She also picked the best name ever for her business: RV Tech Adventures. If I were going to be an RV tech, that would totally be the name I would pick for myself, so I’m a little bummed that she thought of it first.
I love the path Denise has created for herself. What a life — to travel around wherever you want while being able to keep your home functioning and helping others along the way. That sounds pretty good to me.
